Evelyne Clerc

Parcours/Biographie

Evelyne Clerc is a full tenured Professor of European Union (EU) law and Competition law at the University of Neuchâtel (School of Law) since 2006. She serves as the president of the board of “Institut de droit de la santé (IDS)” at the University of Neuchâtel (2020-present) and as a member of the board of “Institut de droit européen” at the University of Fribourg (2006-present). Previously, she was the Vice-Dean (2014-2016) and the Dean (2016-2018) of the Faculty of Law at University of Neuchâtel. She also served as a Commissioner in the Swiss Competition Commission (2005-2015), and as a judge in the Swiss Board of Appeals for Federal Government Procurements (1996-2006) and practiced in law firms in Geneva, Zurich and Brussels.

She earned both a J.D. (1988) and a PhD in law (1997) from University of Fribourg (Switzerland). She also holds a Master degree in EU Law from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium, 1989) and a LL.M from New York University NYU School of Law (1998). She has been admitted to the bar in Geneva (Switzerland, 1991) and in New York (1999). 

Activité scientifique

Evelyne Clerc’ research interests lie in: competition law (EU and Swiss), public procurements (GPA, EU and Swiss law), EU economic integration (free movement of goods, persons, services and capital), bilateral relations CH-EU and EU institutional law.
