This module takes an interdisciplinary approach to two key challenges of contemporary society: the mobility of people and the socio-economic and political integration of our societies. These issues are closely tied to the evolving structure of nation-states and their connections to transnational dynamics in areas such as the economy, law, and politics.
The module enhances your bachelor-level education by combining interdisciplinarity perspectives with a focused specialization in migration studies. You will explore the theories and practices of citizenship, mobility, migration policies, and transnationalism. Seminar consistently address current and pressing issues in migration debates. In addition, you will develop strong methodological skills — both qualitative and/or quantitative—preparing you for diverse professional roles.
The University of Neuchâtel is the only academic institution in Switzerland to offer a dedicated curriculum in migration and citizenship.
