Uncertain about what comes after your PhD or Postdoc?

Should you pursue an academic career or explore opportunities beyond academia?

What if you approached your career exploration the same way you approach research? In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to transform career uncertainty into curiosity and use the scientific method to investigate potential career paths.

Learning Objectives:

During the workshop, particpants will:

• Understand why uncertainty feels uncomfortable and learn strategies to reframe it as an opportunity for curiosty.
• Identify their key skills, strengths, and experiences developed through your research.
• Reflect on which aspects of their work they genuinely enjoy and want more of in your future career.
• Explore how their competencies can transfer to careers both within and beyond academia.
• Formulate career hypotheses and design a small, practical experiment to test them.

Whether you are considering a career outside academia or wondering if the academic path is right for you, you will leave with a designed career experiment to implement over the following month.

One month later, participants will reconvene for a follow-up session to share their experiences, discuss insights gained from their experiments, and learn from one another's discoveries.
