Panel Discussion: Navigating the Job Market and the First Years After the PhD

Graduate Campus_Career Transitions After the Postdoc

Are you wondering what comes after your PostDoc? Curious about how others navigated the academic job market, secured their next position, or managed the challenges of the first years after graduation?

The Graduate Campus invites all postdoctoral researchers at UniNE to join an interactive panel discussion for all early-career researchers at UniNE, focusing on how to navigate the academic job market and the transitions that follow a PhD.

Panelists

The panelists will share insights from their own professional journeys, including their experiences of searching for their next career move and navigating post-PhD transitions. The panelists will also discuss common challenges during the first years after the PhD and how they approached them.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers during an open Q&A session.

The panel discussion will be followed by an apéritif, providing an opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with fellow researchers and panelists in an informal setting.

The panel discussion is open to all postdoctoral researchers at the University of Neuchâtel (PhDs are also welcome).

About the preceding workshop

The panel discussion follows "On Neutral Grounds", a cross-university initiative dedicated to discussing and advancing working papers in management disciplines, including Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Organizational Behavior.

This half-day workshop brings together early-stage researchers from Swiss universities for paper presentations and collaborative discussions. Participation in the workshop is limited to invited participants and registered presenters.

To sign up for the PDW workshop, please email: nina.zachlod@unige.ch

The subsequent panel discussion, however, is open to all UniNE postdoctoral researchers and offers an excellent opportunity to learn from researchers who have recently navigated the transition from doctoral studies to the next stages of their careers.
