Le ERC Work Programme 2027 a été adopté par la Commission Européenne le 20 juillet 2026 et définit les conditions, les règles d'éligibilité et les délais de soumission pour les subventions du Conseil Européen de la Recherche (CER – ERC) pour l'année à venir. Comme premier instrument de financement du programme 2027, la bourse ERC Starting Grant (ERC-2027-StG) a été mise au concours le 22 juillet 2026. Ses principales caractéristiques sont les suivantes :

• Chercheurs ciblés : des chercheurs talentueux en début de carrière, de toute nationalité, ayant déjà produit d’excellents travaux sous supervision, travaillant ou prêts à travailler de manière autonome et démontrant le potentiel pour devenir des leaders de la recherche. Une check-list d’auto-évaluation peut être téléchargée sur la page ERC du site web d’Euresearch.
• Période d'éligibilité : les chercheurs ayant soutenu leur thèse de doctorat au cours des dix années précédant le 1er janvier 2027, c'est-à-dire entre le 1.1.2017 et le 31.12.2026, la période d'éligibilité ayant été élargie par rapport aux appels précédents, où elle était comprise entre 2 et 7 ans après l'obtention du doctorat)
• Délai de soumission : 14 octobre 2026
• Budget et durée : jusqu'à 1’500’000 EUR pour une période de 5 ans. Financement supplémentaire possible jusqu'à 1’000’000EUR (sauf pour les PIs s’installant dans l’UE ou dans un pays associé en provenance d’un autre pays, auquel cas le montant maximal s’élève à 2’000’000 EUR)

Les Points de Contact Nationaux suisses pour le ERC organiseront une Masterclass on Proposal Writing en ligne destinée aux candidat-e-s aux programmes ERC StG et ERC CoG. Cette masterclass fournira des conseils et des astuces pour structurer et rédiger les parties I et II du plan de recherche.

The ERC Work Programme 2027 has been adopted by the European Commission on 20 July 2026 and sets out the conditions, eligibility rules, and deadlines for European Research Council (ERC) grants for the coming year. As first 2027 call the one for ERC Starting Grants (ERC-2027-StG) has opened on 22 July 2026. Its main features are:

• Targeted researchers: talented, early-career researchers of any nationality who have already produced excellent supervised work, are ready to work independently and show potential to be a research leader. A Self-Assessment Checklist can be downloaded on the ERC page of the Euresearch website.
• Eligibility window: Researchers who defended their PhD in the ten years preceding 1 January 2027, i.e. from 1.1.2017 to 31.12.2026, the eligibility window having widened compared to the previous calls, when it was 2-7 years post PhD)
• Submission deadline: 14 October 2026
• Budget and Duration: up to EUR 1’500’000 for a period of 5 years. Additional funding of up to EUR 1’000’000 (except for PIs re-locating to the EU or an Associated Country from elsewhere, in which case the maximum additional funding is EUR 2’000’000)

The Swiss National Contact Points for the ERC will organize an online Masterclass on Proposal Writing for applicants to ERC StG and ERC CoG providing tips and advice for structuring and writing Part I and Part II of the proposal.
