La subvention ERC Advanced Grant 2026 (ERC-2026-ADG) et la nouvelle subvention ERC Plus Grant 2026 (ERC-2026-PLUS) ont été mises au concours respectivement le 28 mai 2026 et le 2 juin 2026.

Ces deux instruments de financement s'adressent aux chercheurs ayant un parcours scientifique exceptionnel et se situant à la pointe de leur domaine, quels que soient leur stade de carrière, leur âge et leur nationalité. Les candidatures peuvent être déposées dans n'importe quel domaine de recherche selon une approche “bottom-up”. L'excellence scientifique est le seul critère d'évaluation. Voici quelques éléments clés de chacun de ces programmes de financement :

ERC Advanced Grant

La subvention ERC AdG offre un financement attractif et à long terme destiné à soutenir des chercheurs principaux reconnus et de premier plan qui souhaitent mener à bien des projets novateurs et ambitieux.

Délai de soumission : 27 août 2026

Budget et durée : jusqu'à 2 500 000 EUR pour une période de 5 ans. Financement supplémentaire pouvant atteindre 1 000 000 EUR (ou 2 000 000 EUR pour les chercheurs qui s'installent dans l'UE ou dans un pays associé après avoir quitté un autre pays).

ERC Plus Grant

Ce nouveau programme de financement soutient des chercheurs d'exception porteurs d'idées audacieuses et d'une vision de recherche transformatrice qui dépasse le cadre des instrument existants du ERC.

Délai de soumission : 2 septembre 2026.

Budget et durée : 7 000 000 EUR pour une période de 4 à 7 ans, sans réduction au prorata pour les projets d'une durée inférieure à 7 ans ; aucun financement supplémentaire ne peut être demandé.

The calls for proposals for ERC Advanced Grant 2026 (ERC-2026-ADG) and the new ERC Plus Grant 2026 (ERC-2026-PLUS) opened on 28 May 2026 and 2 June 2026, respectively.

These two ERC grant schemes are targeting researchers with an outstanding record of scientific achievement at the forefront of their field, irrespective of career stage, age and nationality. Applications can be made in any field of research on a “bottom-up”' basis. Scientific excellence is the sole evaluation criterion. Here are a few key elements of each of these funding schemes:

ERC Advanced Grant

The ERC AdG provides attractive and long-term funding to support established leading principal investigators who want to pursue ground-breaking, ambitious projects.

Submission deadline: 27 August 2026

Budget and Duration: up to EUR 2’500’000 for period of 5 years. Additional funding of up to EUR 1’000’000 (or EUR 2’000’000 for Principal Investigators re-locating to the EU or an Associated Country from elsewhere)

ERC Plus Grant

This new funding scheme supports outstanding researchers with bold ideas and a vision for transformative research that goes beyond the scope of existing ERC programmes.

Submission deadline: 2 September 2026.

Budget and Duration: EUR 7’000’000 for a period of 4-7 years, i.e. with no pro rata reduction for projects that are shorter than 7 years; no additional funding can be requested.
