Assistant-e-s docteur-e-s / Junior lecturers

Please note that the terms "junior lecturer", "lecturer" and "senior lecturer" are only approximate translations of their French counterparts.

This post is temporary and the length of the appointment varies from one institution to another.

Eligibility

Junior lecturers must in principle have completed their doctorate. Other requirements may apply, such as a stay at another university and there may be a fixed age limit. It’s a good idea to make enquiries about such requirements since special exemptions may be granted when justified.

Mission
Junior lecturers are recruited to assist a professor while at the same time conducting their personal research - for example habilitation. The time available for personal work generally varies between 40% and 50% of working hours.

Junior lecturers wishing to pursue an academic career must make use of this period to publish, broaden their teaching and supervisory experience, strengthen their research profile and expand their network.
