Internship guidelines

  • Students can earn 30 ECTS by completing an internship of at least 12 weeks (full-time), which includes writing a master thesis supervised by a professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business
  • Approval from the MScIBD Programme Director is mandatory before starting the internship
  • Internships are not permitted during the first semester of the MScIBD programme.

Step-by-Step Process

Before starting the Internship

1. Find a suitable internship position with a company

You must find a company and a faculty supervisor (see above Internship Guidelines for additional information on the internship).

Your internship should comply with the following:

  • The duration of the internship is at least the equivalent of 3 full-time months
  • The internship needs to be sufficiently complex, require a university degree, and be related to one or several topics covered during the programme
  • It must take place in a firm or organization (SME, large company, ONG, international organization, or public entity)
  • There must be both an internship supervisor from the company and a supervising professor from the faculty

2. Submit your request

Send by email, to the :

  • a description of the tasks and duties that will be part of the internship (i.e. job offer)
  • the application form, signed by the student

The committee will then review your application. After the internship is validated, please fill in the agreement and return it once signed by the company and the student to the programme coordinator

3. Register in IS-Academia

At the beginning of the semester (autumn or spring) that you which your report to be validated, register in IS-Academia for the course “Internship with report (5EN2044) ».

  • for the January session: from mid-September to early October
  • for the June session: from mid-Febrary to early March
  • for the September session: first week of July
