Internship thesis

  • To obtain a MSc in Finance (120 ECTS), students have to meet the criteria of the MSc in Finance (90 ECTS) and they must validate the Internship thesis (30 ECTS).
  • Students who want to write the internship thesis  (30 ECTS) must have acquired at least 30 ECTS in line with the MSc in Finance (90 ECTS).
  • The minimum duration of the internship is 12 weeks, full-time and 6 months maximum.
  • Students must register for the Enhanced programme. All details are on the Current students page.

Step by step

Step 1. Internship search and supervisor selection

First, find a suitable internship position with a company.

By 18 December 2025, select one supervisor from the list provided above and submit the following documents to the programme administrator:

  • Master thesis application form
  • Internship and confidentiality agreement

Please note that the application is binding, and you may apply to only one supervisor.

The programme administrator will obtain the supervisor’s signature and return the fully signed documents to you.

Step 2. Registration in IS-Academia

Between 16 February and 13 March 2026, register in IS-Academia for the course « Internship thesis (5AF2045) ». This will automatically register you for the June 2026 exam session.

Step 3. Submission of the first draft

By 16 April 2026, send the first draft of your thesis, by email and in PDF format, to your supervisor.

Step 4. Submission of the final version

By 18 May 2026, send the final version of your thesis, by email and in PDF format, to your supervisor.

At the same time, submit the following to the programme administrator:

  • Two printed copies of the thesis (double‑sided, colour, bound)
  • Internship certificate
  • Pledge of honour
  • USB stick containing: the thesis in PDF format, all data and all programmes used

Step 5. Evaluation and assessment

By 12 June 2026, the supervisor evaluates the thesis, and the grade is validated during the exam session.

The Validation and assessment form is submitted by the supervisor to the programme administrator.

You will receive your grade once grades are published after the exam session.

Step 6. Registration for the retake session (if applicable)

If your grade is below 4, register in IS‑Academia for the August/September retake session between 27 June and 5 July 2026.

Step 7. Re‑evaluation and resubmission

By 3 August 2026, revise your thesis and send the updated version, by email and in PDF format, to your supervisor.

At the same time, provide the programme administrator with the new printed copies, the updated pledge of honour, and the USB stick containing the revised materials.
