Cinzia Dal Zotto

Path/Biography

Cinzia Dal Zotto is Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Neuchâtel, where she also co-directs the CAS in Tools for Public Management and the CAS in Hospital Leadership. She previously served as Professor of Media Management at the Academy of Journalism and Media. Before joining Neuchâtel, she was Assistant Professor and Research Director at the Media Management and Transformation Centre at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden (2004–2008). A former visiting scholar at the Berkeley Roundtable on International Economy at the University of California, Berkeley, she holds a PhD from the University of Regensburg and a Master’s degree from the Catholic University of Milan.

Her research centers on human resource management and organizational behavior, with a particular interest in how digital technologies and organizational practices reshape contemporary work. Focusing especially on knowledge intensive and media industries, she examines the effects of digitalization and hybrid work on control, autonomy, ethics, and employee well-being. Her work has been published in journals such as the European Management Journal, Information Technology & People, the Journal of Organization Design, Journalism and Media, and Sustainability.

At the University of Neuchâtel, she has held several service roles, including Director of the Academy of Journalism and Media, Director of the Master of Arts in Journalism, Director of the Master of Science in International Business Development, and member of both the Quality Control and Development Commission and the Equality Commission. Beyond academia, Cinzia Dal Zotto also works as a consultant and trainer in personnel recruitment and selection, as well as organizational development.
