Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when ideas, reasoning or formulations originating from third parties in a work are not indicated as such, but are presented as the author’s own creation.

In particular, plagiarism means :

  • Appropriating someone else’s work and presenting it as one’s own.
  • Including in one’s own work extracts from texts (books, articles, websites) without mentioning the original author.
  • Modify an author’s text by replacing his or her words with synonyms.
  • Take up an author’s original idea and express it in your own words (reformulation), without mentioning the source.
  • Insert images, graphics or other material without mentioning their source.
  • Do not enclose in quotation marks (or indicate clearly and precisely) words taken from another source.
  • Cutting and pasting from the Internet, without citing the reference.

In the event of fraud, sanctions are provided for in the Faculty study and examination regulations. Disciplinary measures provided for in the General Regulations of the University are reserved.
