11th CDM Doctoral Student Days - Call for abstracts

This year will see the 11th edition of the Migration Law Center's Doctoral Student Days, organized in collaboration with SNyMS. The main aim of this two-day seminar is to bring together Swiss doctoral students working on subjects related to migration law and policy, to present their work and offer them a platform for meetings and exchanges. This year, the seminar will be held from March 14 - 15, 2024 at the Aarbergerhus Ligerz (BE). 

The call for abstracts is addressed to all doctoral students working on topics related to migration law and policy, who wish to present and discuss their research in an interdisciplinary and reflexive setting. The seminar is bilingual (French and German).

In addition to the CDM faculty, a number of external experts from migration practice and academia will be taking part in the Doctoral Student Days to enrich the exchange of ideas.

CAS in Migration Law

The Universities of Berne, Neuchâtel and Fribourg, in collaboration with the Migration Law Centre (CDM) and the European Law Institute of the University of Fribourg, are pleased to announce the next editions of their joint study program Certificate of Advanced Studies in Migration Law. Offered in French and German, the course provides participants with a sound practical and scientific knowledge of migration law. Beyond the acquisition of legal skills, it provides the necessary tools to critically analyze current migration policy, taking particular account of social science instruments. Further information

CAS Asylum Procedure

The Universities of Berne, Neuchâtel and Fribourg, in collaboration with the Centre de droit des migrations (CDM) and  European Law Institute of the University of Fribourg, are pleased to present their new joint study program for people working or wishing to work in the field of asylum. The curriculum offers a comprehensive training in asylum law and procedure. It provides in-depth knowledge of national and international (including European) asylum law. The course also develops solid skills in legal drafting, and the role and communication of legal representation and asylum enforcement authorities. Further information
