Research interests

I’m a master student interested in conservation biology and behavioral ecology, with a major focus on the predator-prey relationships involving large carnivores.

The aim of my master project is to determine the diet of the spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) and the way this predator gets its food (hunting vs scavenging from lions) in the Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa. My research will be helpful to better understand the impact of the spotted hyena on the associated predator and prey populations and to plan effective strategies aimed to the conservation of the park’s ecosystem and health.
