Gabriel Loumeau is Full Professor of International Economics at the University of Neuchâtel. Dr. Loumeau obtained his Dr. Sc. from ETH Zurich in 2019. His doctoral thesis was honored as an outstanding dissertation and received the ETH Medal in November 2020. He is affiliated to the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, both in the International Trade and Regional Economics and Economic History programmes) and to the CESifo Research Network.

His research focuses on the causes and consequences of urban and regional development. His recent work studies policies addressing the global rise in urbanization, the economic effects of transport network integration, and the role of taxation in regional development.
