Claudia Jonczyk holds the Chair of Strategic Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics since 2018. Since her arrival Professor Jonczyk has held various positions at the University of Neuchâtel, including Director of the Institute of Management (2019-2025) and Vice Dean of Faculty. She is currently the Director of the Master's program in International Business Development.
Before joining the University of Neuchâtel, she was a professor of management at ESCP Business School's London campus and a visiting researcher at INSEAD.
Professor Jonczyk holds a PhD from the University of Geneva and a Master's degree from the University of St. Gallen. She was a visiting researcher at the MIT Sloan School in Cambridge, where she worked on knowledge management and organizational learning in high-risk industries.
She has previously also worked as a strategy consultant for LEK Consulting in Germany and the United Kingdom and for PwC in Switzerland.
Prof. Jonczyk’s current research focuses on social capital and networks, as well as the topic of identity adaptation among expatriates and how service professionals manage their careers.
In the ongoing research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, she is studying the evolution of entrepreneurial networks and how entrepreneurs and SME owners can best use their networks to grow their businesses.
Prof. Jonczyk’s research has been published in leading scientific journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Academy of Management Discoveries, as well as in practitioner publications and case studies.
