Background/Biography
Carolina Salva is Professor of Finance and the Director of the Institute of Financial Analysis at the University of Neuchatel. She holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in financial economics from Cornell University, USA, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the University of Barcelona. Her research interests include corporate finance, financial valuation, governance, institutional investors and pension funds. Her work has been presented at various conferences worldwide and published in top finance journals.
She has extensive teaching experience at the bachelor’s, master’s, and executive education levels, both in presential and distance learning formats. She has taught in various master and executive education programs in Switzerland (HEC Lausanne, University of Bern, UniDistance), Belgium (Vlerick Business School), Spain (IE Business School) and France (University of Strasbourg). She has coached student teams that have won the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Switzerland and participated in the World and EMEA finals.
Carolina Salva has served as dean, vice-dean, academic program director, and as a chair and member of numerous university and inter-university committees at both national and international levels.
In addition to her academic career, she has developed professional expertise in the private sector as a consultant and investment manager. She has also participated in mandates and coaching assignments for medium-sized and multinational companies.
