From the classroom to campus: Health promotion posters by UniNE students

This exhibition showcases health promotion posters created by Master’s students in Work and Organizational Psychology as part of a course on employee training and development taught by Prof. Maike Debus at the University of Neuchâtel. The posters were developed during a teaching unit on health promotion in organizations and aim to encourage small, everyday behaviors that support well-being at work and in study life—such as taking breaks, moving more, preventing strain, and looking after one’s health.

What began as a spontaneous classroom activity quickly sparked strong student engagement and creativity. Encouraged by this enthusiasm, the project was shared with UniNE’s Health Promotion Office. The initiative was met with great openness and support, leading to a collaboration with the Bureau Presse et Promotion to explore how the posters could be displayed across university buildings.

To prepare the posters for public display, the students received expert feedback on three key dimensions: inclusive representation of the diversity of the university community, evidence-based and empowering health messages, and visual design aligned with UniNE’s communication guidelines. The posters shown here reflect this collaborative refinement process between students, teaching, and university services.

This exhibition highlights how student work can move beyond the classroom and contribute to the everyday life of the university. It also illustrates how teaching, health promotion, institutional communication, and teaching support can come together to promote well-being within the UniNE community.
