École doctorale suisse en ethnologie - Swiss Graduate Program in Anthropology

Launched by the Anthropology Institute, the Swiss Graduate Program in Anthropology ('Graduate School') is a two-year graduate-level program supported by the CUSO (Conférence universitaire de Suisse occidentale). It is designed to provide specialised training and tutoring, writing and presentation workshops, peer contact and support. The Graduate School's working languages are English, French and German; special attention is paid to training students in presentation and academic language skills in English.

Enrolled students chose five specialised modules, in which they receive advanced training in specified thematic or theoretical issues in the company of invited guests from Switzlerand and abroad. The modules are 2-3 days long, and are spread out over the two year period so as to accomodate doctoral students' research and professional schedules. All expenses related to attending the modules are covered by the Graduate School.

Participation in the program is open to all doctoral students in anthropology (social/cultural anthropology, ethnologie and Ethnologie) from all Swiss universities.
