Yuchen Huang

Yuchen Huang is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Management of the University of Neuchâtel. She holds a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics (2024), completed under the supervision of Professor Claudia Senik. She previously worked at Sciences Po Paris and the University of Liège.

Her research draws on both econometric and experimental methods — online experiments, large-scale surveys, causal inference on observational data — to understand how individuals make decisions in social and digital environments. At the IMN, she participates in an SNSF-funded project (Consumer Relationships with Digital Platforms, grant no. 10003362), led by Prof. Valéry Bezençon, which examines the relationship between large digital platforms and individual users, with a focus on consumer well-being and empowerment.

More broadly, her work spans two main areas: (1) consumer behavior in digital environments, such as interactions with digital service platforms and the spread of misinformation on social media; (2) the behavioral determinants of social and political preferences, such as charitable and political giving, redistributive preferences, and electoral behavior.

Yuchen also has experience in think tanks and consulting. Alongside her research, she teaches courses in economics and marketing at the undergraduate level.
