Undergraduate and graduate students with an intermediate to advanced level of English (B1+-C1).

There are no specific entry requirements other than the student’s level of English. The module is intended for students with a proficiency level of at least low B2 (intermediate/upper-intermediate).

Before the start of the module, students will be required to take a placement test at the EMA.

The module will enable students to:

• gain a better understanding of tense use in general and academic English;
• practise using tenses in academic contexts;
• revise passive constructions.

The module is divided into four sessions:

1. Tenses in general English 1
2. Tenses in general English 2
3. Tenses in academic English
4. Passive constructions

To receive a certificate for the module, students are expected to:

• attend all four sessions;
• do the required coursework;
• take one written test
