This course will help students work on their language skills in Academic English: vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Participants will practice these skills over different academic subjects. They will need to hand in a short text and do an end-of-semester exam.

Course workload
The course involves a minimum of 25 hours of in-class instruction and around 50 hours of independent study. It is equivalent to 3 ECTS credits, which may be recognised by certain study programmes or faculties.

Students who would like to become more confident in using English for study purposes and outside the classroom.
The course is aimed at students whose proficiency level is around B2+.
You will be asked to come to the EMA before the beginning of the semester to take a Placement Test.

Each session will cover a different topic and students will work individually, in pairs or take part in whole-class activities. Key grammar points will be refreshed. Speaking practice will include providing personal information and discussing topics of personal and academic / scientific interest at an advanced level.
