To access the Swisscovery search and services platform, individual registration on the SLSP platform with a SWITCH edu-ID account is required.
For members of the UniNE community, your Capucine card also serves as your library card. It is strictly personal and non-transferable. To be recognized by the SLSP system, you must first register in SWITCH edu-ID.
If you are not a member of UniNE, you can still benefit from the services offered by Swisscovery (SLSP). The registration process is the same as for UniNE members.
If you do not yet have a library card, you can request one at the front desk of any of our libraries by presenting a valid ID.
Registration on the SLSP Swisscovery platform with a SWITCH edu-ID account is required and takes place in two steps:
[Step 1 is not necessary if you already have a SWITCH edu-ID account]
Create an account at https://eduid.ch/registration. Fill out the form with the required information (address, date of birth, and phone number are mandatory). You will then receive a confirmation email.
A validation email will be sent to your inbox. Click the link in that message to confirm your registration with SWITCH edu-ID.
For UniNE members: In the ‘Organisation’ tab, select your institution and log in using your institutional credentials.
Next, go to https://registration.slsp.ch to complete your registration. Start the process, log in with your SWITCH edu-ID credentials, and click “Accept”. You can then enter your Capucine card number.
Log in to your account (using the “Sign in/Register” button) to:
› Reserve books
› Renew your loans
› Manage your loan requests
› Check your loan due dates
› View any outstanding fees
If you forget your password, please return to SWITCH edu-ID to reset it.
All documents offered by UniNE (and SLSP) can be found in the Swisscovery UniNE catalogue.
You’ve located a book in a UniNE library:
› The book available in the library: Please note its reference number and retrieve it yourself. You are also welcome to browse the books available in the open access section on your own.
› The book is not currently available in the library: It may be located in a off-site storage (compact shelving or depot) or already on loan. To request it, sign in to Swisscovery and click on “Request” You will receive an email once the item is ready for you. If the “Request” option is not available, please contact the relevant library desk directly.
If the item is not available in a UniNE library, you may request it with SLSP Courier or Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
The following libraries are for reference use only and do not lend out documents:
› the Law library (except for UniNE law students)
› the Institute of Physics library
› the Seyrig library
However, photocopies can be made on site.
UniNE documents can be returned:
*Books borrowed from the Law Library must be returned only at the circulation desk of that library.
Late fees within the SLSP network will apply in case of overdue returns (see “Late fees” for more information).
Damage to or loss of a document will incur charges. These costs are the full responsibility of the user (see “Lost Items” for more information).
Documents borrowed through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service must generally be returned to the library from which they were picked up.
Documents are automatically renewed up to five times. After this limit, please present the items at the loan desk. Your Swisscovery account allows you to track the status of your loans.
Renewal is not possible if the item has been reserved by another user.
At the end of the automatic renewal period and on the due date, SLSP sends a return request to your UniNE email address.
The overdue process is as follows: a free reminder is sent first, followed by three overdue notifications at set intervals. After the third overdue notification, the user’s account is blocked until the overdue item is returned or declared “lost”.
All notifications are sent by email.
| AMENDE POUR NOTIFICATION DE RETARD | |
|---|---|
| Rappel | gratuit |
| 1re notification de retard | + CHF 5.00 par ouvrage (CHF 5.00 au total) |
| 2e notification de retard | + CHF 5.00 par ouvrage (CHF 10.00 au total) |
| 3e notification de retard | + CHF 10.00 par ouvrage (CHF 20.00 au total) |
In case of loss or major damage (excluding normal wear and tear), fees will be charged for the book (cost of the item + administrative fees + any applicable late fines).
Please refer to the Princing SLSP Fees and the FAQ on billing procedures.
UniNE libraries are part of the SLSP network (Swiss Library Service Platform).
This network provides access to resources from over 500 scientific and academic libraries across Switzerland. You can borrow up to 100 items, usually for 28 days, with automatic renewals up to five times unless the item has been reserved by another user.
Most SLSP libraries offer lending services, and their materials circulate between libraries via the SLSP-Courier shuttle. However, some SLSP libraries (for example, institute libraries) do not lend via the SLSP-Courier. In such cases, you must use the paid Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service or the paid home delivery service.
All requests are made online through the Swisscovery catalogue. You will receive an email notification when your item is ready for pickup at the library of your choice. The pickup period at a UniNE library desk is seven days.
Delivery of items via the SLSP-Courier is a paid service (see “Service fees”).
If the book or journal you are looking for is not available in Swisscovery, you can submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request by completing this detailed form.
Before submitting a request, it is recommended to check whether the item is available at BPUN, and if so, to pick it up directly on site. Registration with the RERO+ RBNJ (Neuchâtel-Jura) library network is free of charge.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests submitted via the form—for example, for books from RERO+ (including those from RBNJ)—cost CHF 12 per book. The price for international ILL requests depends on the lending library. These fees are the responsibility of the borrower. Please note that RBNJ (Neuchâtel-Jura) books can no longer be picked up free of charge at UniNE libraries.
You can track your Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests through your user account.
Paid direct loan by postal mail allows you to order printed materials and receive them directly at home via postal delivery, for a fee of CHF 12 per item.
► Terms of use
► Postal Address
The requested item will be sent by mail to the address provided in your user account.
Before submitting your request, please ensure that this address is correct. If not, update your user profile to avoid charges in case of delivery to an incorrect address. Make sure your changes are saved before placing the order.
► Charges apply (at your expense)
Postal delivery of an item is charged at CHF 12 per volume. Payment is made according to the terms set by the owning library.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the user.
Any additional costs resulting from postal reshipment (e.g. due to an incorrect address) or failure to collect the item are also the user’s responsibility.
► Deadlines
The loan period (indicated in your account before the item is mailed) and the lending conditions are determined by the owning library.
Delivery time corresponds to B Mail postal service: approximately 2 days.
If the requested item is unavailable — due to loss, current loan, or loan restrictions — the library will inform you.
By confirming your remote loan request, you acknowledge and accept these conditions.
