Free mobility exchange

 Students from universities which do not have a co-operation agreement with UniNE but who wish to make an exchange at UniNE may also apply for what is known as a free mobility exchange at UniNE.

Language requirements

  • Candidates who plan to enroll in courses taught in French must master the French language in order to follow courses and take exams.The B2 level, as defined by the Council of Europe, is a must. French lessons are offered as part of the immersion course and during the semester at the ILCF.
  • Candidates who plan to enroll in courses taught in English only must master the English language in order to follow courses and take exams. The B2 level, as defined by the Council of Europe, is a must. The knowledge of the French language is not required but recommended to facilitate the daily life.

Application forms 

Candidates should send their application documentation to the Mobility Office.

By 15 April for the fall semester 
By 15 September for the spring semester 

This application should include

  • the application form
  • a covering letter (in French if you intend to take classes in French)
  • a letter of recommendation from a member of the teaching staff (in French or English)
  • a letter from your university authorising you to make an exchange at UniNE (in French, English or German)
  • your transcripts of records (in French, English or German)
  • the list of the courses attended at the home university (in French, English or German)
  • a provisional learning agreement (10 ECTS min./semester)

On receipt of this application, the Mobility Office will send it to the relevant faculty with a view to obtaining a notice of admission. Should this be approved, the Mobility Office will then supply the candidates with all the information they will need regarding their stay at UniNE at least two months before the start of the semester.
