Our objectives :

CURIOUS acts as the sociocultural psychology research center of the Institute of Psychology and Education. CURIOUS was created in 2015 to facilitate the research work of those affiliated with our research teams. CURIOUS continues a tradition founded with genetic epistemology and nurtured by researchers who create links across psychology’s sub-disciplines. The research centre explores the theoretical, epistemological, methodological and ethical dimensions of research that examines people’s learning and development, across the lifespan and in all types of institutional or everyday environments, traversed by numerous social and political forces. CURIOUS creates spaces for dialogue, through its Studio – a weekly research colloquium – conferences, workshops, or events as part of the ‘Theater of Knowledge’. CURIOUS cultivates its curiosity through dialogue with the humanities, sciences and social sciences. CURIOUS questions the world through mandates and involved research, and by exploring fundamental questions. CURIOUS defends an ethical stance in a changing world, and dares to dream a better one. The doctoral network, CuPsyNet, offers a network and community of researchers in sociocultural psychology to those interested young researchers. As sociocultural psychology suggests, research is never carried out alone; exchanges, collaborations and debates are all part of the process by which new ideas can emerge. The network offers a space for the development of theoretical, methodological and epistemological knowledge in sociocultural psychology. It does not aim to teach general models, techniques or “soft skills”. Network partners organize two to three meetings a year, sometimes in conjunction with a conference relevant to the network. The network partners undertake to provide accommodation for participating doctoral students. The partner universities are: University of Lausanne, European universities: London School of Economics (UK), Aalborg University (DK), University of Bath (UK), University of Belgrade (SE), University of Cyprus (CY), University of Copenhagen (DK), University of Salento (IT). Meetings are held in English.
