On campus, UniNE’s electronic resources are directly accessible from devices connected to the UniNE Wi-Fi network, including laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

Off-campus, there are two ways to access UniNE’s electronic resources:

1. VPN – Virtual Private Network
   • Advantage: Provides access to all resources.
   • Disadvantage: Requires the installation of specific software on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
2. Institutional access via SWITCH edu-ID
   • Advantage: No software installation required.
   • Disadvantage: Access is limited to a restricted number of providers.

Recommendations

It is strongly recommended to use the VPN to access UniNE’s electronic resources from off-campus.
Shibboleth – SWITCHaai is a viable alternative to the VPN; however, it is currently available for only a limited number of resources.
