We are looking for a Ph.D. in Text categorization (Natural Language Processing):

We are looking for motivated candidates for PhD project on natural language processing and text categorization (authorship attribution, author profiling).  This PhD project will be granted by the Swiss National Science Foundation over a period of three years.  The main goal is design an authorship attribution method (machine learning approaches or distance-based methods). 

The University of Neuchâtel is settled in a beautiful landscape of lake and mountains that offers a friendly atmosphere to about 4,000 students.  The city of Neuchâtel belongs to the French-speaking part of Switzerland and is located at the border of the German-speaking part of the country.  Courses are taught mainly in English. 

Applicants must hold a Master degree in Computer Science.  Candidates with strong programming skills who are knowledgeable in text categorization (NLP) are particularly encouraged to apply.

The project will be conducted at IIUN (University of Neuchatel) in the Computational Linguistics group (prof. J. Savoy). 

The project is funded for a 3-year duration, possible extension to a fourth year. 

Project start: September 1st.

Wage around CHF 3,900.-/ month
