Objective
Being able to identify scientific publication of valuable impact, to promote them on the web, and to know the limit of such promotion.
Content and pre-course assignment
Introduction to:
- Professional social networks of interest for scientific research
- Wikipedia editing
Problems linked with the promotion of scientific research: neutrality, conflicts of interest.
Possible issues with copyright; the OpenAccess model and its relevance in this context
Home work :
- Identify the top 5 Wikipedia articles that should be read by the general audience to understand your lab work
- Identify a list of 5 papers from the host lab that could/should be promoted on the web
