Lukas obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Freiburg where he specialised in molecular plant physiology for his thesis project with the Kleine-Vehn Lab. During his studies he went to Aarhus University for an Erasmus semester, where he participated in the Molecular Biology M.Sc. program, before starting his M.Sc. in Biotechnology at the University of the Algarve. He joined the Kalmbach Lab in 2026 for his Master’s thesis project, for which he is investigating the effects of ectopic OG production in the context of various immunological backgrounds.
