KALMBACH LAB

Welcome to our lab website!

The Plant Cell and Developmental Physiology Lab opened in September 2024 when Lothar Kalmbach established the group with support of a Starting Grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation.

We use microscopy, functional genetics and physiology to study development and differentiation of vascular tissues in plants, how their cell walls are modified and how transport of sugars and organic molecules is modulated and coordinated within the plant.
