Prof. Nadja Capus

Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure

Nadja Maria Giuliana Capus has been a full professor at the University of Neuchâtel since 2016. She teaches Master courses in economic criminal law, criminal procedure law, administrative criminal law, and a Bachelor course in substantive criminal law.

Before joining the Faculty of Law at the University of Neuchâtel, Nadja Capus was a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) professorial fellow at the University of Basel (2011–2017), following the completion of her doctorate at the University of Bern (2001) and her habilitation at the University of Basel (2010).

Her research projects in the fields of criminal law and criminology have been funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Union. Nadja Capus was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship (2007–2009) and a European Research Council Consolidator Grant (2020–2025). She has been invited as a visiting scholar at the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada; the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany; the Chair of Comparative Legal Studies and the Internationalisation of Law held by Professor Mireille Delmas-Marty at the Collège de France in Paris; and the Faculty of Law at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Nadja Capus is Chair of the Committee for Scientific Integrity of the Swiss National Science Foundation (2017–2021 and 2021–2025), Executive Board Member of the Swiss Judicial Academy, and Board Member of the International Commission of Jurists.

Prof. André Kuhn

Professor of Criminology and Criminal Law

André Kuhn is full professor of criminal law and criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Neuchâtel since 1 February 2015. He received the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching in 2019.

He teaches criminology, the general part of criminal law, criminal procedure law, substantive and procedural law for juveniles, introduction to restorative justice.
