Prof. Nadja Capus

Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure

Nadja Capus is a Full Professor at the University of Neuchâtel, a position she has held since 2016. Her expertise encompasses criminal law, criminal procedure law, and criminology.

Prior to joining the Faculty of Law at the University of Neuchâtel, she was a Swiss National Science Foundation Professor at the University of Basel (2011–2017). She obtained her doctorate at the University of Bern (2001) and her habilitation at the University of Basel (2010).

Her research projects in criminal law and criminology have been funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Union. Nadja Capus is the recipient of a Marie Curie Fellowship (2007–2009) and a European Consolidator Grant (2020–2026).

She has been a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law and Criminology in Germany, as well as at the Chair in Comparative Legal Studies and the Internationalisation of Law during Professor Mireille Delmas-Marty’s tenure at the Collège de France.

Previous positions and mandates:

  • President of the Research Integrity Committee of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) (2017–2021; 2021–2025)
  • Member of the Executive Board of the Swiss Academy of Magistracy and module coordinator (2016–2026)

Prof. André Kuhn

Professor of Criminology and Criminal Law

André Kuhn is full professor of criminal law and criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Neuchâtel since 1 February 2015. He received the Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching in 2019.

He teaches criminology, the general part of criminal law, criminal procedure law, substantive and procedural law for juveniles, introduction to restorative justice.
