Presentation

The Pôle de propriété intellectuelle et de l’innovation [PI]2, founded in 2012, is attached to the Faculty of Law at the University of Neuchâtel. It grew out of the Centre de droit commercial, fiscal et de l’innovation (CCFI), to which it

has contributed since 2008. The [PI]2 examines the legal aspects of sustainable innovation in their socio-economic context.

The chosen approach is multidisciplinary, focusing on intellectual property, a constantly evolving field. The department collaborates with the Institute of Health Law (IDS) in biotechnologies and therapeutic products, as well as with the tax law, commercial law, and labor law chairs.

Innovation and its effects on society cross borders. The [PI]2 develops its activities in a national and international context.

As a center of research and expertise for academics, business people, and government departments, the [PI]2 organizes numerous seminars, such as the Journée neuchâteloise de la Propriété intellectuelle (JNPI)2. The cluster also exchanges with the city and other centers (Microcity, CSEM, EPFL, HE-Arc).

Last, the cluster is available to the local business community for consultations and legal opinions on innovation law.
