Mariana Marchionni

Background/Biography

Mariana Marchionni is a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Distributive, Social, and Labour Studies (CEDLAS) at the National University of La Plata (UNLP) in Argentina, an academic institution dedicated to the study of development and social issues in Latin America.

Dr. Marchionni holds a PhD in Economics from UNLP and was awarded a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of British Columbia. She is a full professor and the director of the Master’s program in Economics at UNLP, and is part of the leadership team of GenLAC, CEDLAS’s initiative for gender equity. She teaches econometrics at both undergraduate and graduate levels at UNLP.

Dr. Marchionni is also a researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) in Argentina. Her primary research areas include gender economics, economics of education, labour economics, and social policies. She has published numerous articles in academic journals, books, and book chapters on these subjects.
