Thomas Brändle

Lecturer

Biography

Thomas Brändle is Head of Economic and Fiscal Policy Analysis in the Economic and Monetary Policy Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Finance and is Lecturer at the University of Lausanne. Between 2019 and 2021, he worked as Senior Policy Analyst at the OECD in Paris and, in 2016, he was Seconded National Expert to the European Commission, DG-ECFIN in Brussels. Prior to that, he was Visiting Researcher at the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona and at Bocconi University, Milano. In 2012, he completed his PhD at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel, where he worked from 2007 to 2012 and where he is affiliated Research Fellow. He has published articles in academic and economic policy journals. He studied Economics at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau, Lugano and Basel.
