Serhiy Kandul

Biography
Serhiy is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and Medical History (IBME) of the University of Zurich. He is a part of interdisciplinary team with the research focus on human control of artificial intelligence and algorithmic fairness ( NRP77: ”Digital transformation”).
Before joining IBME, he worked at the Digital Society Initiative (DSI) of the University of Zurich and at the Institute of Economic Research of the University Neuchatel, Switzerland.
Serhiy did his PhD in experimental economics at the Max Planck Institute of Economics (IMPRS Uncertainty Graduate School) and got his Doctorate from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany in 2015.
His research interests are behavioral and experimental economics, pro-social and moral behavior, experimental ethics.
In his current research, Serhiy tried to understand people's perceptions of algorithmic decision making.
