From face-to-face to online learning

The CAS/DAS in Integrated Crop Management (ICM) programmes are the result of a journey that began in 2015.

From 2015 to 2020, CABI and the University of Neuchâtel offered a Master of Advanced Study (MAS) in ICM. Each year, this programme offered the opportunity to 12 participants from countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to spend 9 months in Switzerland to complete their studies within the programme. However, disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic stimulated an in-depth review of the programme to consider alternative methods for delivering this valuable education.

A difficult decision was made to end the Swiss-based, 9-month, MAS-ICM programme with a new ambition to create online courses that would deliver the same information. Given the promising new developments in remote teaching technologies, an online format seemed the ideal solution to reach higher numbers of participants worldwide each year.

From 2022 on, we are pleased to launch new, online CAS-ICM programmes that are based heavily on the MAS-ICM content, which has received significant praise from former students.

Interactive reports from the MAS-ICM can be found below.
