Several students’ associations are contributing to the dialogue on sustainability issues within the University and beyond through various actions and events.

Student-led projects
Between 2013 and 2024, several national incentive programmes supported student initiatives for sustainable development: Sustainable Development at Universities Programme (2013-2016), U Change (2017-2020) and U Change (2021 – 2024).
At the University of Neuchâtel, several projects have been launched under these programmes.
- Création d’une section locale d’Oikos International : Oikos Neuchâtel (2024)
- IMPACT THEATER – Ateliers de création d’un spectacle théâtral interactif sur la thématique des enjeux environnementaux (2022)
- Mapping then upcycling Swiss agro- and food waste streams as substrates for fungal biocomposite materials (2021 – 2022)
- Cabines interactives pour la durabilité et le climat (2018 – 2020)
- Pour un environnement diversifié et des projets durables sur le site de l’Université de Neuchâtel (2017-2020)
- Animals in the city! (2015 – 2016)
- Sustainable teaching in agroecology (2013 – 2016)
- Agir, Echanger, Réfléchir – Association Alternative Etudiante Durable (2013 – 2016)
