Introduction

Areas of study

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and Road Traffic Studies is a research and teaching unit at the University of Neuchâtel which deals with the legal and criminal aspects of road traffic.

As such, the CIDECR’s activities relate not only to criminal law, public liability law and administrative law, but also to the study of risk-taking behaviour and behaviour in breach of road use regulations, in sociological, psychological, economic, environmental and historical terms.

The CIDECR seeks to gather knowledge about, and ongoing research on, road traffic, and aims not only to offer a comprehensive view of the phenomenon, but also to suggest ideas for future, multidisciplinary study.

In addition, the CIDECR’s members have been involved in the fourth edition of the Swiss Traffic Regulations Handbook (CSCR):
