Here is an overview of resources for members of the Institute.
Different labs at the institute host compute and storage servers. This is to complement the resources provided by the SITEL. The servers are managed by the respective labs but are available for all members of the institute as long as there is capacity.
Further information how to access resources is available here: https://github.com/crolllab/IBIOL-compute-resources
The institute has several climate controlled climate chambers housing varying GroBanks to facilitate our diverse (plant) biology research. If space and the required growth conditions allowed, these will be available to members of the institute. In addition, several laboratories at the institute have additional, often customized, growth chambers.
For further information please contact Prof. Martina Legris (martina.legris@unine.ch) or Prof. Joop Vermeer (joop.vermeer@unine.ch).
We are currently working on a complete inventory of laboratory equipment available at the institute. When finished, this list will become available on the intranet. Until then, please contact the head of the laboratories concerned for inquiries about available equipment.
There are four rooms for practical work, located on the ground floor of aisle D (https://www.unine.ch/sbes/wp-content/uploads/sites/78/2024-10_UM_D_plans.pdf). They are all equipped with gas, compressed air, sinks, and chemical fume hoods. There is also space available to store material for practical work during the semester. In addition, some rooms are equipped with specific material and instruments such as spectrophotometers, scales, lab shakers, laminar flow hoods, etc. Finally, there are microscopes and binoculars locked in specific areas which can only be accessed with a specific key.
For any questions regarding these rooms, such as organization, access to specific equipment and how to store material, please contact Saskia Bindschedler (saskia.bindschedler@unine.ch) or Maude Sunier (maude.sunier@unine.ch).
This space is used by various research groups. Please contact Zegni Triki (zegni.triki@unine.ch).
