arrival formalities
If your internship lasts longer than 90 days, you’ll need to take a number of steps to formalize your arrival in Switzerland.
Announce your arrival to the “Contrôle des habitants” office of the commune in the canton of Neuchâtel where you will be living during your internship, in order to obtain your residence permit.
Documents to bring with you :
- attestation de séjour,
- identity card or passport,
- copy of your birth certificate or a copy of your civil status certificate,
- Housing contrat (if you are living in a residence) or housing authorization form signed by your landlord (only if you are staying with a private individual).
Cost: varies – according to the rates of the Migration Office of the canton of Neuchâtel.
Deadline: no later than 14 days after your arrival in the canton of Neuchâtel.
If you are an EU or EFTA country citizen
Send a copy of your European health insurance card and the residence certificate sent to you by the UniNE Study Exchange Office) to OCAB.Affiliations@ne.ch
This office will check that you are insured in accordance with Swiss and cantonal requirements.
If you are a non-European country citizen
Send the health insurance equivalence check form and and the residence certificate sent to you by the UniNE Study Exchange Office) to OCAB.Affiliations@ne.ch
This office will check that you are insured in accordance with Swiss and cantonal requirements.
Deadline: 14 days after your arrival in Switzerland.
