Choose your courses

The learning agreement formalizes the courses that the student wishes to take abroad and ensures that these courses will be validated and recognized upon their return to their home institution. It involves the student, the home institution and the host institution. It must be signed by all three parties before the start of the exchange.

To draw up your learning agreement, please refer to the links on the right and to the section “Procedures and Deadlines” below.

The course descriptions for the new academic year are available from August.

To find out more about the languages of instruction, see the Language requirements page.

Steps:

1. Download the learning agreement (LA) available on your Mobility Online platform. You can also use the LA provided by your home institution.

2. Refer to the course descriptions (see on the right) and choose your courses. To avoid schedule incompatibilites, check carefully the schedule of each of your courses (refer to “course schedule” on the right)

3. Once you have chosen your courses, complete the LA.

4. Have your contract signed by your home university.

5. Once your home institution has signed, send your LA to the study advisor of the faculty offering the courses you wish to take at the University of Neuchâtel (contact details on the right) no later than

    • 5th September  for the autumn semester (2025-26 course descriptions will be available by September 1)
    • 30th November for the spring semester.

6. As soon as the advisor has returned you the LA, make sure that your LA includes all 3 signatures (yours, your home university’s and the UniNE study advisor’s), then upload your LA to the Mobility-Online platform.

  1. Choose a minimum of 20 ECTS and a maximum of 30 ECTS per semester.
  2. You must choose the most ECTS in the study field specified in the agreement between UniNE and your home university. You may choose 20% of your courses in another study field.
  3. You are not allowed to complete your master’s thesis during your exchange at UniNE.

The learning agreement provides for the possibility of modifying the choice of courses agreed on before departure. You can change your learning agreement within 3 weeks following the start of courses.

Steps :

  • make the necessary changes,
  • sign your learning agreement,
  • have it signed by the study advisor at UniNE,
  • send it to your home university.
