The Mathematical Institute (IMA) at the University of Neuchâtel is organised into five research teams, each under the responsibility of a professor (chair).
The activities of these teams cover a wide range of mathematical fields, both fundamental (operator algebras, geometry, group geometry, dynamical systems, functional analysis) and applied (probability, game theory, cryptography and coding), and enable the Institute to offer a complete range of high-level training (Bachelor’s, Master’s, doctoral school).
The human scale of the institute, the dynamism of its teams, the regular flow of doctoral students, post-doctoral students and visiting researchers, and the invaluable support of the Swiss National Science Foundation all contribute to making the IMA a stimulating and pleasant place to do mathematics. All this in an exceptional working environment.
