Research area

I am currently doing my Master’s thesis as part of the URBA-SOIL project (FNS): Urban soils and ecosystem services in cities: assessing the potential for water and heat regulation (G. Bullinger, C. Le Bayon, P. Brunner, P. Turberg and doctoral student: Marie Coudène). The aim of the project is to assess the ecosystem services provided by urban soils – water regulation and microclimate (water & T°C) – and to identify the factors and properties on which it is possible to intervene to improve these services.

In this context, the objective of my work is to identify earthworm communities in the soils of parks in the city of Lausanne and to identify the soil properties and anthropogenic factors that influence their composition. I am particularly interested in the effects of differentiated management of green spaces on earthworm communities and soil structure.

I like to address an environmental issue with stakeholders in the field – landscapers, farmers, etc. – with the aim of proposing and implementing concrete solutions.
