Master of Science in Finance
Data Science Option
- To obtain a MSc in Finance with Data Science Major (120 ECTS), students have to meet the criteria of the MSc in Finance (90 ECTS) and they must validate the Data Science module (30 ECTS).
- Students in the MSc in Finance with Data Science Major (120 ECTS) cannot write the master thesis or the internship thesis (30 ECTS).

Data Science Project (9 ECTS)
- The Data Science Project is offered during the Spring semester and allows students to validate 9 ECTS.
- It is only available for students who have registered for the Data Science Option: Master in Finance with Data Science Major, 120 ECTS.
Supervisors
Potential supervisors can be found within the professors of the teaching team of the MScF programme.
Step by step
Step 1.
At the beginning of the Spring semester, find a supervisor and discuss your potential project.
When you have the supervisor’s approval, send to the programme administrator the Internship / Project application form, completed and signed by yourself and your supervisor.
Step 2.
Between 17 February and 14 March 2025, register in IS-Academia for the course “Data Science Project (5AF2038)”. This will automatically register you for the June 2025 exam session.
Step 3.
On the first day of the exam session (2 June 2025) send your project to your supervisor. At the same time send to the programme administrator the Pledge of honour.
The programme administrator forwards the Validation and assessment form to the supervisor.
The supervisor evaluates the project.
The grade is validated during the exam session.
