Born in Germany, Cindy earned her BSc in Biology with a specialization in Plant Physiology at the University of Bern. During her master’s, she explored plant-produced compounds as potential antibiotics through interdisciplinary research, combining Microbiology, Immunology, and Plant Biology. Now, as a PhD student, she investigates how plants, using Arabidopsis thaliana, perceive light signals and how these influence aboveground architecture, focusing on branching patterns. Outside the lab, she enjoys exploring nature on hikes, indulging in different cuisines, and getting lost in the pages of a great book.
