Due to scheduling changes, this year’s WES PhD School Conference 2024 will take place early next year, on February 7th, 2025, in Lausanne. This annual event is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with continuing students, meet new PhD colleagues, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration among the institutions participating in the PhD school. Snacks, lunch, and a closing apéro will be provided!
About the Conference
This one-day event promotes exchange between PhD students and senior researchers, encouraging a no-stress environment for sharing and discussing research.
- Talks: 15-minute slots for presentations and Q&A.
- Posters: Reserved for 1st-year students or others who prefer this format.
We encourage 2nd-year students and beyond to give talks. Presentations should be tailored for a general hydrological geosciences audience. You may present a talk/poster adapted from a recent or upcoming conference (e.g. SGM, AGU, EGU) but ensure it is accessible to your peers.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Maximum 200 words
- Written in English
- May include one figure
- Specify whether your submission is for a talk or a poster
Participation Guidelines
The annual conference is mandatory for all PhD students registered in the WES PhD School.
Supervisors and postdocs are also encouraged to attend. The registration link is the same as for the PhD students.
Participation and registration are free of charge. As agreed with our partner institutions, transportation fees will be reimbursed by supervisors of PhD students.
