Master of Science in Information Systems

IMPORTANT: Starting from academic year 2019-2020, the University of Neuchâtel no longer accepts new registrations for the master in information systems. The program will continue under the responsibility of the University of Lausanne.

The Information Management Institute of the University of Neuchâtel and the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) of the University of Lausanne are very pleased to present their Master of Science in Information Systems.

The post-industrial, information age is characterised by a strong competition between companies, with a focus on processes and innovation, rather than on products alone. Today, the asset of a company is the information, represented by people, experience, know-how, patents and trade secrets. In order to be able to compete, a company must have a strong information infrastructure, at the heart of which lies the information technology infrastructure.

Thus, rather than dealing exclusively with information technologies, the study of information systems focuses on why and how technology can be put into best use to serve the information flow within an organization. Informations Systems are at the interface between infomation technologies and management.
