Research interests
With my expertise in analytical chemistry, isolation, and structural determination of natural products, my work as a member of the FARCE group focuses on the chemistry behind plant-insect interactions, primarily in two main areas of research:
Deciphering the odorous language used by plants that are under insect or pathogen attack, with the ultimate objective to use sensors for odour-based, real-time detection of pest and diseases.
Support the development of a new formulation of entomopathogenic nematodes against the invasive fall armyworm, which is devastating maize fields in Africa and Asia, and understand their behavior under the influence of specific chemical compounds.
