Research interest

Under the supervision of R. Bshary and A. Ros, I'm investigating
the physiological benefits that reef fish clients get out of cleaning
interactions with L.dimidiatus.
For this, we took samples on reef fish living on manipulated reef
patches (with and without cleaner fish) at Lizard Island Research
Station
and did an experiment in aquaria with S.bilineatus to
investigate parasites exposure effect.
The physiological parameters observed are :
body condition, white blood cell count, phagocytosis activity,
lytic activity of plasma, red blood cell levels (heamatocrit) and
cortisol levels (stress hormone).

Results are expected in Spring 2013.
