Before applying to the Organismal Biology Doctoral Program (DPOB), candidates must have themselves arranged for a research laboratory, thesis director, and be register at one of the following the universities :

  • University of Neuchâtel
  • University of Fribourg
  • University of Bern
  • University of Lausanne
  • University of Geneva
  • or another officially recognized swiss institution

The coordination office of the Organismal Biology Doctoral Program does not handle any matters concerning the registration with the University. This is an administrative matter that is handled by the University registration office.

All Ph.D. students of the Institute of Biology of the University of Neuchâtel are expected to register in the program and will thereby commit to the requirements outlined in the guidelines.


Official collaborations


The doctoral program is officially offered as part of the academic collaboration between the Universities of:

Post-docs and students that are not enrolled in the DPOB are welcome to take part in the doctoral program activities if places are available.
Priority will be given to registered DPOB students.
